More About Steph Goyer

Steph has been teaching fun, personalized guitar lessons to kids and adults since 2009. She studied guitar at Berklee College of Music and has years of experience teaching private lessons, rock band class, music theory workshops and songwriting clinics. She enjoys teaching acoustic and electric guitar in the styles of rock, classic rock, heavy metal and pop and can help you learn music theory, ear training, improvisation and soloing, songwriting and basic music production. She has experience teaching young children, teenagers and adults and truly enjoys teaching all ages, experience levels and genres of music.

Steph has been playing guitar since the age or 9. During middle and high school she studied classical and jazz guitar and also fronted her own rock band. She started gigging regularly around age 16 and hasn't stopped since!

She was accepted to Berklee College of Music, where she studied for 5 years, majoring in Guitar Performance and Professional Music. There she honed her guitar skills and indulged in her love of music theory and songwriting. While at Berklee, she formed a progressive metal band, Protean Collective, and began gigging in the Boston area. They have released several albums and have been nominated for 4 Boston Music awards. In addition to playing guitar, Steph has a great passion for recording, producing, and arranging her music. Although not a singer by trade, she loves singing and writing huge vocal harmony arrangements for her songs.

Besides music, Steph is passionate about food, craft beer, dogs, skiing, and anything outdoors! She loves meeting and connecting with new people.
